If the lens doesn't move, then maybe the motor is gone bad. Try manually moving the lens to the back of the console, the power on and check if it moves it to the front. If not, then check the cable from the motor to the board to see if it is damaged, or not in place properly. If all is good in that ...

Check to see if the fan comes on any at all when you power up the PS2. If it doesn't then you'll have to change the fan, or solder it directly to the board (if you test the fan and find it works, and there is power at the pin-outs). Try an AUDIO CD in there, and try a DVD MOVIE to test which it read...

Use a multimeter and go through the PS2 power supply to ensure that power is going through and no fuses or capcitors are blown. If that's ok, then check to see if you replaced the ribbon cable to the power/eject buttons properly (if you've disassembled the console before). Hope the info helps. PeAcE.

The blue disks are CD based games. Try playing an AUDIO CD in your console. If it plays then the problem is the other disk you are trying to load. Check for scratches or smudges on the disk. If it doesn't play the AUDIO CD, then the problem is the lens. Cleaning or tweaking it may help, butif that f...

If you've disassembled it before, maybe the problem is the ribbon cable. If you've never pulled down your console, maybe a fuse in the power supply is blown. If you've never opened the console before, get support to fix it. If you have, then try and find if you didn't reconnect something, or test an...

I'm guessing the MADDEN is a DVD based game. If your console plays other DVD based games, then I'd suggest tweaking/cleaning the lens. If that doesn't help, then I'd suggest a new lens. I'd not suggest a new lens if your console plays other DVD based games. If all it doesn't play is that one game, t...

Check if your console will play CD or DVD games. Depending on which it will or will not play, we will know if the lens is at fault. I hope you remembered the original settings for the white gears. If you've done all that and the games play in another console, maybe you'll need a new lens. Sorry abou...

Lens cleaner disks are normally CD based disks. If that's the case, try a CD based game in the console. If it works, then it means that the lens is faulty and not reading DVD's anymore. Try tweaking it, or replacing. Hope the info was helpful.

Aside from getting a new controller, you could open your faulty controller and try cleaning it out. Either dirt has caused the button to stick, or someone was mashing the controller buttons a lot and forced the button in. If you can't do it, find someone that has done it before, or is willing to do ...

If you've opened your PS2 before, do so and remove the cover for the disk tray. Move the lens manually (while the PS2 is off) to the back of the console. Turn it on and check if the lens moves to the center/home position, and if the laser turns on. Try an AUDIO CD in there as well to see if it reads...

Try removing the slide card and checking if the PS2 will work normally. I'm aware of the card, but I much prefer the chip. You can get the solderless chip, which makes installation and use a lot easier. If it still doesn't work properly thereafter, the slider may have pushed something out of alignme...

Try an AUDIO CD in there, try a DVD MOVIE in there. If the CD plays with no prob, then the lens should be in proper alignment. If the DVD doesn't play, then the lens may want to be cleaned or tweaked. Ususally it's one or the other, meaning that either it will read DVD's only or CD's only, or take a...

Maybe the ports are gone bad, or the ribbon cable connecting the ports has been dislodged. Just try re-seating the ribbon cable first, else you'll need a new port. Please be careful if you're planning on re-seating the cables, as improper removal may damage the cable or the latches that hold it in p...

Maybe the controller port is bad, in which case you'll have to change it (the block has both ports and memory card slots) or maybe if you re-seat the ribbon cable it may work. Also consider blowing it out with a tin of compressed air. Hope the info helps.

If you removed the tray during cleaning, maybe you did not align it properly. There is a white guide underneath which must slot into a specific area of the PS2 disk tray. Double check on that when you can. Also, if you can operate the console with the cover off, check and see if you can find where t...
