I recently took apart my Playstation 2 (SCPH 30001) to clean the lense and when I put it back together and turned it on to try out one of the games that was getting disc read errors and I pushed the eject button and put my cd in then closed it and it won't stay closed, the light stops flashing then the tray opens again. I shut it... it opens... I shut it... it opens... EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I have never modded or done anything to this unit other than open it up to clean it, which I have never had a problem with before.

Somebody please reply, I would be very appreciative of any help anyone can give me.

If you removed the tray during cleaning, maybe you did not align it properly. There is a white guide underneath which must slot into a specific area of the PS2 disk tray. Double check on that when you can. Also, if you can operate the console with the cover off, check and see if you can find where the jam is occuring. Hope the info helps. Post your results.
