WAG54G: snmp agent

Post by Ciccio »

Friends,

I'm trying this subject also in other forums.
See if you can help me better.

I want to make useful the snmp agent inside the wag54g.
I've enabled it and I've installed several free snmp browser in my PC and also the snmputil.
The one I most like is Snmpview, but whatever oid I configure I always get a ??? value, while the other tools can get oids without problems, but in my mind they are less flexible.
Does anyone have a hint for making Snmpview working properly?

Other question.
Who knows which is the oid corresponding to the ISP connection indication shown in the web server status page, where also the button
connect/disconnect is shown?

Last question.
Can I operate this connection/disconnection through snmp by setting the same oid as before, or some other oid.
Or it's not possible?

Many thanks in advance.

Hey Ciccio,

I have not "played" with the SNMP at all. Hopefully somebody else on this forum can help you...

Have you tried contacting Linksys support? They have been quick to provide me with help previously.

Thanks David.
No I haven't yet tried the Linksys support, I have a bad feeling reading many posts in different forums, but I'll try.
In the meantime, I stay tuned here and see.
I've a general feeling that very few have played with the snmp agent.

Bye,
Ciccio

It depends a lot on who you get on the other side - junior or senior. Try calling 2-3 times asking the same thing if the first person doesn't know?

UK Linksys number: 0870 739 3939

Other numbers can be found at http://www.linksys.com/international/

David,

how should I interpret?
http://www.linksys.com/international/ is an almost empty page ... :D

Try with IE... and then submitt a bug to Macromedia.

It seems to be the Mozilla version of flashplayer that is the problem.

I was joking. It was funny to find an empty page when looking for support ...
Now, I've submitted my problems by email to both the official support in US and in Italy.
Wait and see...
Ciao,
Ciccio
