how di fix a playstation that doesnt spin

when i turn my ps2 the disc doesnt even spin

If you've opened your PS2 before, do so and remove the cover for the disk tray. Move the lens manually (while the PS2 is off) to the back of the console. Turn it on and check if the lens moves to the center/home position, and if the laser turns on. Try an AUDIO CD in there as well to see if it reads CD's. Try tweaking the lens as well. If all else fails, you may need a new lens. Hope the info was helpful.
