Disc Read Error
Whenever i play my PS2 games, they work...except for 1...it has worked forever until it suddenly stopped working...there is a medium sized scratch on it, but other games have similar scratches and still work! whats up with that! What happens when i put the disc in? I keep the CD tray open until the option screen comes up, i select browser, and put the game in and close the cd tray. then i wait and the cd icon comes up...i select "PS2 Disc" and then all that happens is a black screen...with a little clicking (ticka ticka ticka ticka). any1 got help???
Sounds like a busted disc.
Even if the scratch looks similar to the other scratches, it may be much worse.
Also, it can be in a spot with vital information while the other scratches may be in spots with little or no info.
I have heard of disc fixing tools/liquids but doubt how effective they can be.
Try the disc at a friends place.
Consider buying a new disc?
