After removing the top and bottom of the console, look to the FRONT and BACK of the LASER/DISK ASSEMBLY and you'll see ONE large clip/tab at the front and TWO smaller ones at the back. Basically the lens assembly snaps plastic clips/tabs into the metal frame of the PS2. Just be careful and snap thos...

The disk maybe damaged. The lens of your PS2 may be damaged. If you can play other games then it's just the disk damaged. This is why I've chipped my PS2 and my PS1 and have NEVER played my originals. The only place my originals go is into my computer to be burnt. I'd hate it if anything happened to...

3 days eh? Well I usually play for longer...........anyways. Power on the PS2 with no disks in there. Go into the BROWSER. Place a disk in the drive and check to see if it tries to read. Assuming that you've been inside your PS2 before. Open the lens assembly / disk tray. With the PS2 off, manually ...

The purple/blue disks are CD based games, and the silver ones are DVD based games. Usually that's the case. What you have my friend is the bitter end of the stick. Most PS2 games (esp. the new ones) are DVD games. Your lens is at fault. You could try tweaking the lens and hopefully that will help. I...

Maybe the board got damaged. Is the console chipped? (Mod Chip?) You've tried another AV cable you said........when the cable is plugged in, try jiggling the wires/connector where it plugs into the PS2 and check what happens. Maybe the connector at the PS2 end is damaged. If it is, and you can see w...

If you've been inside the PS2 before, here's something you could try. Remove the cover for the laser assembly / disk tray. Manually (while the console is off) move the lens to the back of the console. Power on and check if the lens moves to the front (home towards the spindle). If it does, and you g...

Try removing the cover and check if the tray will eject. You may not even have to do that. Just remove all the cover screws (6 screws in some models, 8 in others) and try the eject button again. Sometimes the cover is too tight on the console, and ends up pinching or hitching the eject tray. Post yo...
