Is it possible to upgrade firmware of wag54g using wireless connection? Is there any danger doing it?

It is possible, but definitely not recommended.

If the WiFi connection fails during the 40 second uploading of the firmware, you'll end up with an expensive door stop.

(Let me know if you still attempt it and succeed :D )

As far as I understand (I read some article about firmware upgrade) if something fail during the upgrade, always you can correct it by uploading firmware via tftp.exe. In the new versions of linksys equipments they embed this software into firmware. So you don't need to use it seperately unless you have an upgrade problem. But still I don,t want to take risk and try it :).

Hi all,
I have the wireless problem. My WAG54G had firmware 1.01.6. WiFi connection was dropping now and then. I have tried all the new firmwares; 1.01.7, 1.02.x. Now I have the firmware 1.01.5 and a large 12VDC fan working at 8V. No problems on wireless connections, no problems on port forwarding (using Azureus - port range forwarding, serving web pages - Apache HTTP). It seems that the problem is not just firmware but also flame-ware.
As I was trying the firmware updates a few times I ended with red blinking power led. Using tftp.exe, I easily changed my firmware.

Hi all,

Although linksys did not announce it, new AnnexA 1.02.3_02 firmware for WAG54G in their ftp site. I just tried it and realise that PPoE connection does not work.
