|
|
Hi, is anybody out there, who got it to play online with the PS2 behind a WAG54G?
I have the v2 but i think it won't work on both v1 and v2.
The problem must be the WAG54G (or only it's firmware) becaue I can play online with the same Playstation 2 behind my WRT54G with the same network settings. (PS2 static IP and in DMZ).
Can anyon play online? With which firmware and which settings? |

I am playing with a PS2 behind the WAG54G. It has worked on all firmwares.
There was one game (SOCOM?) which would not connect to game server and I had to put the PS2 in DMZ. For all other games NAT is sufficient.
I am on the PS2 Beta team so have played at least 15 different games online.
I don't think the problem is the WAG54G.
Make sure you set up the PS2 correctly, including your ISPs DNS (or SCEE beta DNS if you need to). |

I have the WAG54G v2 - that must be the problem.
Which WAG54G do you have? |

v1... but unless there is a problem with the DMZ in v2 I don't see what the problem could be.
Try also with normal NAT and then with some port forwarding. Some games specify what ports/protocols need to be forwarded. |

Which ports must be forwarded? I have only FIFA 2006. UDP or TCP?
And which problem does the V2 have with DMZ?
Anyone who can play online behind a WAG54G V2? |

This is different from game to game. Try checking at the official web site of the game.... or ask their support.

I have not heard anything specific but your set-up seemed to suggest it. If all is identical, except swapping v1 for v2. |

I tried it with prot forwarding now. Forwarded all necessary ports (tested with wrt54g, where it works).
But on the WAG54G V2 it still doesn't work. So the problem is not only the DMZ. Because now I don't use DMZ and it also don't works.
The problem is the WAG54G V2. Damn!
There are many threads on linksysinfo.org forum, from people who have the same problem! |

Ouch, good luck with that.
My wag54g v1 finally gave up. The ports on the back stopped working (ADSL and LAN), WiFi still works.
It was a great relief to upgrade to a Billion Voip router.
I have had too many problems with the wag54g. Mainly low data through put, bad coverage and constant overheating causing shut downs. |
