i was replacing my ps2's lens, it worked great! but it was sliping on the snake reel. i left it till i had more time. next time i opened it up and cleaned. it was working great but when i went to close the tray the open button's light was not on. the tray wasn't moving and the motor that moves the disk wasn't moving aswell.

With the PS2 open and turned off, move the lens to the back of the PS2 manually. Turn it on and see if it tries to home the lens and if any motion at all is done. If you get motion then probably it was stuck. You can try loading a disk with the cover off (if you know how). If there's no movement, then maybe the motor is damaged.
