ps2 says disc read error

when I put in a silver bottomed game it clicks for about 30 seconds and just tells me disc read error and does the same with a dvd. But if I put a blue bottomed game, it works straight away. Audio cds and PS1 work aswell. I was wondering if someone knows why this happens. Please help.

This is usually due to a bad lens. There are two possible fixes.

  1. Tweak the lens. It may work after.
  2. Buy a new lens.
